vanity -- st.ofle

I don't know anything about female dress sizes.
Hell, I hardly know anything about women.

but I came upon an article on one of my favorite blogs about how the shape of a woman -- an idea woman -- has changed over the years.

Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.

This is a size 14 today.

Then there's this

  1. Marliyn's measurements were 35 23 35. Although her weight fluctuated she was usually around 125lbs and 5'5. The studios lied about her measurments and said she had a larger bust and smaller waist than she actually did. Im fact I have heard many people say "Marilyn was a size 16" and I have heard 12, 14, and 10 as well. It's very easy to figure out that today she would be considered a size 6 or 8, depending on the garment. Also, she had a dressmaker and tailors who made sure that everything fit her perfectly. If you see the phots of her singing to JFK you can see that she has defintely gained some weight.
